Like any other app, YZZY may collect user location data to varying degrees. While this data can improve your user experience, it's crucial to understand how to manage location sharing for your privacy. Let’s check out some of the key notes regarding the topic.
- Do not forget to manage app permissions
Review and adjust location permissions within your app settings
For Android devices:
- Location Permissions are located at Settings > Apps > YZZY > Permissions to adjust these settings.
- Google Location Accuracy can be disabled by going to Settings > Location > Advanced > Google Location Accuracy and turning it off. This prevents Google from collecting location data from your device.
- Regularly review which apps have access to your location. Go to Settings > Privacy > Permission Manager.
For iOS devices:
- Location permissions are located at Settings > Privacy > Location Services to manage which apps can access your location. You can turn off location services entirely or choose which apps can access your location.
- Share My Location feature is located in Settings > Privacy > Location Services > Share My Location.
- Disable geotagging
When posting photos or videos, deactivate geotagging to prevent embedding your location data within the media file. - Location awareness
Exercise caution when mentioning specific locations or landmarks in posts and comments, as this could reveal your whereabouts and potentially be used for doxxing (the malicious public exposure of private or identifying information). - Post control
For individual posts, leverage the settings to prevent location sharing on a case-by-case basis. - Review past check-ins
Remove any unwanted location tags previously associated with your posts.
General notes
- Abstain from publicly sharing your address, phone number, or easily identifiable photos to mitigate the risk of doxxing.
- Refrain from sharing your real-time location in chats or social media posts unless necessary.
- Maintain a cautious approach when adding or following users online. Avoid clicking links from unverified sources.
- Exercise discretion when sharing sensitive content or personal opinions.
- If you're a content creator, prioritize client safety by avoiding meetings at your residence and upholding client confidentiality.
- Always prioritize common sense when using our app. If needed, don't hesitate to seek assistance from our Support Team or law enforcement.
